Dongfeng Motor Corp. ranked second in China for sales in July, selling 163,745 units, a growth of 4.39 percent, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Since Dongfeng’s Aeolus S30 launched on July 22, it has received more than 6,000 orders and so far delivered more than 2,000 cars to customers.
Sales of the company’s co-branded vehicles in July have also been favorable. Dongfeng Nissan, ranked third in the industry last month, sold 53,084 units of vehicles, an increase of 105 percent. The sales volumes of the Teana, TIIDA, Sylphy and Livina have all surpassed 10,000 units.
Dongfeng Nissan has invested 5 billion yuan in a new plant to raise its productivity with an additional 240,000 units to become the largest automaker in southern China.
